Überblick : Es herrscht Frieden auf der Erde - vorerst. Zwei überlebende Handlager des galaktischen Eroberers Freeza begeben sich mit dem Außerirdischen Sorbee zur Erde, der einen gefährlichen Plan ausheckt: Er will Freeza mit Hilfe der Dragon Balls wieder zu Leben zu erwecken. Als es ihnen gelingt und ihr Wunsch vom Drachen Shenlong erfüllt wird, denkt der zu neuem Leben erwachte Freeza nur an das Eine. Er will sich an Son Goku rächen. Um den mittlerweile viel stärkeren Kämpfer trotzen zu können, trainiert Freeza das erste Mal überhaupt und kehrt sechs Monate später zur Erde zurück. Jaco reist ebenfalls dorthin, um Bulma zu warnen, dass der Feind im Anmarsch ist und sie alarmieren die anderen. Doch Goku und Vegeta trainieren auf dem Planeten Beerus mit Whis und haben zunächst keine Ahnung, was ihnen bläut. Wieder einmal liegt das Schicksal der Welt in den Händen von Son Goku und seinen Freunden.
